Mike has worked in the financial services industry since 1982, with both investment providers and advisers; and was key to the establishment of Ethical Screening back in 1998. His roles include developing new business opportunities and the existing client base; product development; and management of the business. Mike's contacts with investors and managers as a financial advisor, keep our services relevant to those who use them.

With 25 years’ experience in financial services, in both technical and client facing roles, Matt provides the link between client needs and the research team. This ensures our products and processes continue to provide the reasoned and understandable information clients of Ethical Screening enjoy. He has qualifications in environmental and financial areas, and pursues the long-held idea that real change towards sustainability will not be achieved without harnessing the financial system.

Gerard has worked in responsible investment since 1997, and has been with Ethical Screening since it was founded in 1998. His roles include the development and maintenance of our ethical screening criteria, research methods and management systems; designing and developing products and services for our individual, charity and institutional client; and day-to-day management of the business.

Juliana is responsible for managing the output of our research team, from ensuring our core processes are meeting our clients' needs, to staff training and quality control. She is also involved in client-specific research and reporting for individuals, charities and institutions. Special interests include access to medicines; and the extractive industries and their environmental and social impacts, with a particular interest in South America.

Jim is involved in all of our core research areas, with a particular focus on positive screening, and the UN SDGs. He is also involved in developing our Funds Database, and building relationships with Funds Database sponsors. Jim has a broad background in sustainable development and research, working on projects ranging from watershed management to gender-based violence.

Elina is responsible for managing and producing the ethical screens for individual client investment portfolios, including researching company activities and analysing their performance against individual client criteria. Elina also works with our charity clients, assisting with the development of their ethical investment policies.

Her role includes the creation of client communications, marketing planning and social media management. Sam’s focus is to raise the profile of Ethical Screening ensuring more people are taking responsible investment seriously.

Elisabeth is involved in all of our core research areas, with a particular focus on governance; and on client-specific research some of our charity clients. Special interests include animal rights, supply chain issues and the social and environmental effects associated with over-consumption and population pressures. Elisabeth has a background in corporate governance research and analysis.

Phoebe joined the company in 2019, and is involved in all of our core research areas. In addition to general research, analysis and monitoring of corporate activities she has a particular focus on company ESG performance and practices, and helps develop our ESG offering. She has a particular interest in oceans, water, human rights, supply chains and animal welfare. Phoebe has an International Law LLM Masters from the University of Bristol.
Phoebe Spey
Cameron joined our research team in 2022, researching and analysing company performance against our ethical, ESG and sustainability criteria. He has an MSc in Corporate Sustainability & Environmental Management from the University of York and helped to found the Lincoln Student Managed Investment Fund as an undergraduate in Lincoln. Cameron has interests in biodiversity, healthcare, education, and the role of financial markets in delivering equitable, sustainable, and circular economies.

Helen joined Ethical Screening's research team in 2021. She is involved in our core data gathering processes, researching company activities and analysing their performance against our ethical, ESG and sustainability criteria. Helen has a particular interest in social justice, the impact of corporate activity on the natural world, and sustainable tourism. She has an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh.

Andrew joined Ethical Screening’s research team in 2022. He is involved in our core data gathering processes, researching company activities and analysing their performance against our ethical, ESG and sustainability criteria. Andrew has a particular interest in governance, social justice and sustainability. Andrew has a BA in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Manchester.
Andrew Hicklin
Calum joined the Ethical Screening research team in 2020. He is involved in our core data gathering processes, researching and analysing company performance against our ethical, ESG and sustainability criteria. Calum's interests include sustainability, ethical consumerism, animal rights, gender inequality, and LGBTQ+ issues. He studied International Development at the University of East Anglia with a key focus on natural resources, gender, and social anthropology.

Lisa has a particular interest in gender equality and the promotion of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. She has a Master of Management from the University of Sydney.

Jonny has a particular interest in nuclear disarmament, workers’ rights and the environment. He has a MSc in International Relations from the University of Bristol.
