Our Research Process
Ethical Screening provides transparent and independent research into corporate activity, covering a variety of issues. The range of the issues we cover, and the way in which we analyse our findings, is developed in response to the requirements of our clients.
Information is gathered from a range of sources to build comprehensive profiles of companies and their activities. Our team of researchers and analysts use their wealth of knowledge and experience to identify problematic activities; assessing the nature and significance of a company's involvement; and determining whether it is of material concern to our clients. Where publicly available information is limited, we contact companies directly to obtain the data required for the analysis processes.

Our research and analysis generates comprehensive 360o company views
We always take care to review information impartially, paying particular attention to the viewpoint and agenda of the author. The data we collect are analysed using standardised methods to ensure consistent and unbiased treatment of the information. We regularly review our research management system to ensure the efficacy of our procedures.
Our research and analysis procedures are aimed at determining whether a company is involved in a particular activity and the magnitude and significance of that involvement. We do not endorse or promote a particular opinion on any ethical issue. To maintain our impartiality, we do not act as consultants to any of the companies we research, or campaign on any of the ethical issues we cover.
